University of Syiah Kuala (Unsyiah), in 2017 provides Education Scholarships for Poor Students (Bidikmisi) to 1210 students scattered in several faculties. Rector of Unsyiah, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M. Eng, invites Bidikmisi recipients students to continuously improve their integrity and academic value. Because according to the Rector, Bidikmisi scholarship is one effort made by the government to realize the ideals for underprivileged students, but achievers.
This was conveyed by the Rector in front of hundreds of Bidikmisi students during the Socialization of Rights and Obligations of Bidikmisi Scholarship Recipients at AAC Dayan Dawood Building, Banda Aceh, Thursday (11/22).
Rector affirmed that the students can immediately complete the study on time by reaching the highest GPA. Because if the limit exceeds the study, then the government will not bear anymore Bidikmisi scholarship. He also hopes that during his studies in Unsyiah, the students uphold the value of honesty and dare to dream high.
"I hope the students dare to dream high in life, so it can provide benefits for others," said Rector.
Meanwhile, Head of Bureau of Student Affairs and Alumni Unsyiah, Drs. M. Nasir Ibrahim, said if during the distributing process Bidikmisi scholarship found falsification of data, then the concerned student will be subject to academic sanction. In fact, not close the possibility of crossed out of the list of scholarship recipients. For that, he hopes the students uphold the value of honesty.
"The campus will continue to monitor every Bidikmisi student. If found cheating, then Unsyiah will take firm action, '' said Nasir.
