Shabri, Runner Up For National Achievement Lecturer

Lecturer of Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah), Dr. M. Shabri, SE., M.Ec, was selected as the runner up for national achievement lecturer in social category of humanities year 2017 held by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti). This award was given at Grand Mercure Harmoni Hotel, Jakarta (10/30). This year's event was attended by 95 outstanding lecturers from all universities in Indonesia.

Shabri said this award is an appreciation of the educators who have worked well so far. This victory also shows if the lecturer achievement is not only monopolized by large universities in Indonesia.

"It is not true that universities outside Java are not qualified. Our lecturers have a capable ability, even above their ability, "said Shabri.

Shabri explained that there are several points of assessment conducted by the judges during the assessment, such as lecturer achievements, international publications, supporting documents, personalities, and scientific papers presentation. During the presentation, Shabri explained about the concept of inclusive and profitable Islamic banking finance.

He hopes that this victory can bring the name of Unsyiah more widely known to be able to take part in national and international level. Included also in the improvement of international publications. He also hopes that in the coming years, many of Unsyiah's academic community will participate in this event in accordance with the categories contested.

In addition to Shabri, the selection of lecturers with achievements in social and humanities waere also won by Dr. Ir. Drs. Yoseph Yapi Taum, M. Hum from Sanata Dharma University as the first winner and Dr. Drs. Kuswarsantyo, M. Hum from State University of Yogyakarta as the third winner.

In addition, Kemenristekdikti also choose educators and educational personnel achievement for the category of lecturers of science and technology, laboran, librarian, academic administration, financial manager, and archivist. Noted there are 257 participants assessed from all over Indonesia.
