About 26 universities from Taiwan are promoting their campus at the Job Fair and Education Expo 2017 from August 29-30 at Dayan Dawood Building of Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah), Darussalam, Banda Aceh, Tuesday (8/29).
On that occasion, Unsyiah and 18 universities from Taiwan were sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in education. Job Fair and Education Expo 2017 is a collaborative activity organized by Career Develompment Center (CDC) and Office International Affair (OIA).
Chairman of the Committee of Job Fair and Education Expo 2017 Dr Eddy Gunawan Mec said the exhibition aims to bridge the alumni of Aceh universities, especially Unsyiah alumni with the world of work and universities in Taiwan. This event can give the opportunities for alumni who want to continue their studies to a higher level.
"And for the Taiwan universities who participated in this expo can also recruit the best students so that they can bring the university or the alma mater," said lecturer of Economics and Business Faculty.
In addition, at this expo also provides several booths from various companies that are looking for new workers in their company.
Meanwhile, CEO of Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia Willyanto Wijaya explained, TEC was established in Indonesia to facilitate the Indonesian poeple to study in Taiwan. At this exhibition TEC expects Unsyiah students and alumni to take advantage of this golden opportunity to gain knowledge in Taiwan.
"Education in Taiwan is advanced, so we invite all academic community of Unsyiah and alumni to study there from S1 to S3 in Taiwan," he explained.
Mentioned, there are three things that need to be submitted TEC. First, TEC and Taiwan government will give very positive things during studying in Taiwan, from S1 to S3. Secondly, students can contact the TEC if they experience any problems during their studies in Taiwan. Third, after completing the study, TEC also still willing to bridge the alumni of Taiwan who want to learn more there and who want to know more about Taiwan.
On the same occasion, Vice Rector I Unsyiah Dr. Hizir said, this educational exhibition is the largest educational exhibition ever undertaken Unsyiah. Previously, precisely on October 10, 2010 college from Taiwan also held its first expo in Unsyiah Banda Aceh.
"Currently there are about 200 alumni who are graduates from Taiwan," he said.
According to him, Unsyiah has a good relationship with Taiwan. Even one of the professors and ten doctors in Unsyiah is a graduate from Taiwan. In addition, last week Unsyiah also held a Joint Summer Camp for ten days.
"Of the 30 universities who joined, there are five universities from Taiwan who joined," he concluded.
Also attending the event were Head of Human Resources Development Agency (LPSDM) Aceh and Senate Secretary Unsyiah Prof. Dr. Said Muhammad MA, Director of Taipei Economic Trade Office Indonesia Mr. Chang Shu-Yen, and Dean of Agriculture Faculty Dr Ir Agussabti MSi. This activity is also supported by Elite Study In Taiwan (ESIT).
