As many as 550 participants who were students attended the Unsyiah Drum Band Competition (UDBC). The activity which is part of the 57th Syiah Kuala University Anniversary activities series, starting from October 6 – 7, 2018 at the Student Hall Building Prof. Majid Ibrahim Unsyiah. (Saturday, 10/6).
Vice rector III Unsyiah Dr. Alfiansyah Yulianur BC when opening the event said, Unsyiah greatly appreciated the high enthusiasm of the participants to participate in this competition. According to Alfian, this is a sign that the spirit of creativity among students, especially in Aceh, is quite potential.
Alfian revealed that all this time Unsyiah strongly supports activities that can increase creativity among students. For this reason, Alfian hopes that UDBC's activities can further motivate participants to continue to work and improve their creativity.
"Because I believe, we all have the potential to develop. So do not be discouraged, let's continue to work and excel, one of them by joining the UDBC competition, "Alfian said.
Committee Chair Habibillah said, UDBC was the fourth time the activity was held by Unsyiah, which was designed by the Drum Corps Unsyiah. The activity which raised the theme of Upholding Sportivity and creativity without Boundaries, has succeeded in attracting the attention of the wider community. This is seen from the enthusiasm of the community to participate in this activity.
Habibillah also said, this activity aims to encourage the Drum Band / Marching Band musicians in order to increase their potential to be more qualified, qualified and professional. Through this activity, participants can also explore and channel their potential in music.
"In addition, activities like this can also prevent them from acting in a negative direction, such as drug abuse, promiscuity or other criminal activities," he concluded.
