Syiah Kuala University received donations of CSR (Corporate Social Responbility) funds from the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Aceh Region. This donation of Rp. 990 million was symbolically given by the Chairman of BRI Aceh, Dedi Iskandar, to the Unsyiah Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng., At the Unsyiah Jamik Mosque, Tuesday (12/11). This contribution is part of the BRI Care Program.
Dedi said that this contribution was given to development of Unsyiah Mosque facilities, one of them is to provide air conditioners. Every year, BRI allocates funds to improve worship facilities in Aceh. For this year, around Rp. 4.7 billion was disbursed and 30 percent of it was given to Unsyiah.
Rector of Unsyiah thanked BRI for regularly helping Unsyiah. Donations for this mosque will later be used to procure worship room coolers. It is hoped that with this new facility, the Unsyiah Jamik Mosque will be more comfortable for the pilgrims. What's more, the number of worshipers is increasing every day.
"Our target, in Ramadan next year this mosque is already cold, so the pilgrims will be more comfortable to worship."
In addition to providing CSR contributions to the mosque, BRI Aceh Region also distributes scholarships to 60 Unsyiah students who have excellent achievements. (Humy Unsyiah / fer)
