Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah), Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan on Monday (1/7) asked the equivalent high school in Aceh to immediately fill the School and Student Data Base (PDSS) which has been held since January 4 and will end on January 25, 2019. The data can be filled through the www.pdss page. snmptn.ac.id.

Marwan asked the school to be concerned about this, because PDSS is the main requirement that must be done in order to take part in the National Selection of Higher Education (SNMPTN) in 2019. He said that if the school has not filled in the data, the students cannot take SNMPTN.

Marwan explained, PDSS is a database that contains the school's track record and student academic achievement. Every student who participates in SNMPTN must have a National School Number (NPSN), and fill in the achievement data. Whereas students who are entitled to participate in SNMPTN must have a National Student Identification Number (NISN), academic achievement, and be registered with PDSS. Meanwhile, SNMPTN registration will begin on February 4-14 2019. While the selection results are announced on March 23, 2019.

"All information about new student admissions for the SNMPTN pathway can be accessed through www.snmptn.ac.id and we hope the community and schools can see it carefully," said Marwan.

He also added, if this year the ranking of SNMPTN students would be conducted by the College Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT). The official institution of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education is tasked with running the SNMPTN and SBMPTN selection. While Mandiri Selection is still carried out by each PTN. They will later rank students based on the value of the subject. Based on the ranking of these academic achievements, students who meet the requirements are permitted to apply for SNMPTN 2019 according to school accreditation.

For this reason, Marwan hopes that the school can fill the PDSS correctly and not cheat. Because if the SNMPTN verification team finds fraud, such as engineering a report card, then the student can be disqualified.

He also added that in the near future, Public Relation Unsyiah would visit several regions in Aceh to socialize new student admissions in 2019. (Humas Unsyiah / fer)
