[Public Relations Unsyiah] - Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) once again held an Integrated Social Service in welcoming the 57th anniversary of the year. For this year, Unsyiah chose Aceh Jaya Regency as a social service location held from October 7-12, 2018. The opening took place in the courtyard of the Teuku Umar Regional Hispital, Calang, Aceh Jaya which was attended hundreds of members of the Unsyiah and Forkopimda Aceh Jaya communities.
Rector Unsyiah, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng., Said that social service activities are a form of Unsyiah concern towards the people of Aceh. This spirit is in line with the founders of Unsyiah who hope that the oldest campus in Aceh can educate the community, so as to bring a better life. Moreover, education is an important part in building civilization, not least in Aceh Jaya.
"With a variety of disciplines owned by Unsyiah, we are ready to build Aceh Jaya to be better, and try to restore the glory of the potential of this district," said the Chancellor.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Aceh Jaya, Drs. H. Teuku Irfan TB, welcomed the election of Aceh Jaya as an integrated service location for Unsyiah. According to him, this activity can improve the lives of Aceh Jaya people for the better. Teuku Irfan also hopes that this activity can be routinely carried out annually. In fact, he asked Unsyiah to also be able to send students to carry out Real Work Lectures (KKN) in the district.
"We are ready to collaborate with Unsyiah and hope that not only social services will be held here, but also KKN."
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Social Service Committee Dr. Hajjul Kamil, S.Kp., M.Kep, said there were 87 activities held during the social service program. This activity involved 12 faculties at Unsyiah, 3 work units, and hundreds of Unsyiah students. They will later be placed in several sub-districts in Aceh Jaya Regency. (fer)
