Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) held a Webometrics and Greenmetrics ranking workshop at Senate Hall Unsyiah, Darussalam, Banda Aceh, Wednesday (12/6). This event held by the Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M) is an effort to improve competitiveness as a research-based campus.
Vice Rector of Cooperation and Public Relations, Dr. Nazamuddin, MA., Mentions that this year based on Webometrics data, Unsyiah is in fifth position as the university which has the most disseminated scientific publications. However, overall Webometrics ranking, Unsyiah is in eleventh position nationally.
"This is the second year of Unsyiah following Greenmetrics Campus. Last year, Unsyiah was ranked 18th nationally. We have a shared commitment to become a world class university," said Nazamuddin.
Until this year, Unsyiah has successfully published 6,956 scientific article titles in various publications. In addition, 291 books and 26 patents have been produced by Unsyiah scientists.
Related Greenmetrics, Nazam added, Unsyiah has formed a team working to develop the concept of green campus. This concept is expected to present a new spirit in energy saving, especially on electrical energy use. Nazamuddin also appealed to the academic community to start the movement of energy saving from the smallest things that exist around the campus.
"We invite all elements, including people around the campus to keep this university to be green, at least not littering," he said.
Chairman of the Committee, Razief Perucha Fauzie Afidh, S.Si., M.Sc., said that this half-day workshop was attended by 64 participants from Unsyiah, included Head of Institute, Head of Technical Implementation Unit, Head of Study Center, Vice Dean, and Head of Bureau.
