Syiah Kuala University establish cooperation with PT Indah Karya (Persero) in development of Renewable Energy (EBT) Wind Turbine industrial area in Ladong, Aceh Besar. The MoU signing took place at the Central Administration Office Unsyiah, Darussalam, Banda Aceh, Tuesday (6/5).
President Director of PT Indah Karya (Persero), Nel Adianto, said that the project's goal is not only to build wind turbine that will generate energy, but also a step to advance investment in Aceh.
"The investor will build an industry when the energy infrastructure is fulfilled. Therefore, wind turbine is expected to be a solution in fulfillment the electrical energy needs in the future, "he hoped.
Adianto explained, the amount of energy generated through wind turbine in Ladong simultaneous with the industries that will be built in that area.
"So the first phase of this project begins with research to obtain the potential view and business scale. Then at the construction stage will be adjusted how many windmill must be built in order to provide electricity supply to the industry to be built, "he explained.
In this case, Adianto ensure, it is not just create a source of energy, but also bring investors. In fact, PT Indah Karya itself will make an investment by utilizing the available power there.
Initial surveys targeted the amount of power generated could exceed 300 MW. According to Adianto, to get that capacity, later in the area of Ladong will be built around 10 to 30 point windmills scattered in coastal areas and hills.
"Of course the number of towers to be built is very dependent on the permits we get and industrial needs in the area", he said.
Closing his presentation in front of Unsyiah academics, Adianto is optimistic that this project will succeed. Because in addition to getting support from Unsyiah, PT Indah Karya (Persero) has also been designing the construction of similar projects implemented in Java.
