Members of the House of Representatives Commission IV of the Republic of Indonesia visited Syiah Kuala University in the context of working visits related to the RUU on Change in Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems (KSDAHE), for the session II of 2018 - 2019. This team was welcomed by Vice Rector I Unsyiah Prof. Dr. Marwan at the Unsyiah Senate Hall. (Thursday, 12/6).
Dr. H. Hermanto, SE, MM as Chairperson of Commission IV said that this visit was part of the legislation function of the DPR RI related to the drafting of the KSDAHE amendment bill so that public consultation and opinion nets were needed in the form of Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to get input. Because the bill is included in the DPRI RI's Commission IV priority program.
Therefore, in this team there were also a number of officials from the relevant Ministries who were working partners of the House of Representatives Commission IV.
"In addition to Aceh, this workforce is also carried out in two other regions Yogyakarta and West Papua," said the DPR Member.
Hermawan explained, the KSDHE Bill was aimed at implementing Law No. 5 of 1990. Where there were several things that were considered by Commission IV regarding this RUU draft. like, the new paradigm of governance that has shifted from centralized to decentralized.
Then various international conventions that have been agreed upon by the Indonesian government such as the Nagoya Protocol, and adjustments to the newly born fields / sectors related to the environment and forestry so that they need to be integrated in the new bill.
"For this reason, considering this Law is very important and Unsyiah is one of the oldest universities and has many competent experts. So we really need a critical and substantive view to our environment, "he said.
Meanwhile, in his speech Marwan said that Unsyiah was very grateful and honored to have been involved in drafting this bill.

Hum, Environmental Expert Prof. Mahidin, Social and Community Service Specialist and Economist Dr. Amri.
