Counseling Student Invites Community to Prevent Post Power Syndrome

Five students of Counseling Study Program from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) joined in PKM-M activity (Student Creativity Program-Community Service) perform dedication in Tungkop, Aceh Besar, (5/29). This devotion activity takes the form of Mager (Mari Gerak) socialization using BIMKEL (Group Guidance) to prevent Post Power Syndrome (PPS) on workers in Tungkop.

The team is headed by Teuku Fadil Alhafiz Umar whose members are Rahmad Syarifuddin, Nurrizki Shafira, Nabila Arshadina, and Muhammad Yahya. This idea according Teuku Fadil emerged from their experience when they saw post power syndrome sufferers. The sufferer has symptoms, such as irritability, and often talk about his past carrier that causes him oppressed.

"In this activity there are three stages that we do, which is socialization, gymnastics mass, and evaluation."

Teuku Fadil added that these three stages make the participants become more active and interact. This step is one way to prevent post power syndrome.

"After that, the evaluation aims to measure the extent to which people understand about the activities we have done," said Teuku Fadil.

This activity received a positive response from the local community, one of them Marlyandriani. He admitted from this activity can know early on how to prevent post power syndrome.

"This activity is very useful and previously I did not know about this disease. I just found out that the symptoms are apparently attacking me. Sometimes I often get angry by myself, do not want to talk to people when I'm not in the mood. "

Teuku Fadil hopes that this activity can be carried out independently by the community, even though the PKM-M activity has been completed. (fer)
