The Faculty of Engineering at the Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) Banda Aceh, designed a face shield or special face shield, to be distributed to medical staff working on the Covid-19 case at Dr. Zainoel Abidin's Regional General Hospital (RSUDZA).

RSUDZA is the biggest referral house in Aceh for handling patients with Corona Virus. "We have already submitted 100 face shields to the hospital. Another 100 are being made, "said Prof. Samsul Rizal, Tuesday (3/31/2020) as reported by Acehhkini.

According to him, face shields designed as a complement to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in protecting the face of paramedics when handling patients, are easy to use and very practical to clean. The tool was made by engineering students at the Unsyiah campus, under the care of the lecturers.

"Assembled in Unsyiah, guided by Dirhamsyah (lecturer)," explained Prof. Samsul.

In addition to making a face shield, Unsyiah also continues to produce Hand Sanitizers, to be distributed to the public.

"We have prepared up to 2,000 bottles to be distributed," he said. []
