The Academic Community of the Faculty of Dentistry at Syiah Kuala University opened a donation to help health workers equip personal protective equipment (PPE) when facing Covid-19. The donation was distributed to Zainoel Abidin Regional Hospital, Meuraxa Regional Hospital, and Prince Nayef Unsyiah Hospital.
Donations are open from March 25, 2020 to April 3, 2020. The donation details include 1,900 handscoons, 800 masks, 50 boots, 30 hazmat spun bunds, 40 micro hazmat, 30 Google safety, 20 box head caps, 45 surgical gowns, and 1000 shoe cover. The total donation value is estimated at tens of millions given to Prince Nayef Unsyiah Hospital on March 31, 2020 and Zainoel Abidin Regional Hospital and Meuraxa Regional Hospital on April 15, 2020.
The fundraising action was carried out by the entire FKG Unsyiah community. FKG Unsyiah lecturer, drg. Ridzki Hasya said, the donation was expected to help ease the burden of health workers in Banda Aceh against Covid-19.
"Most of the donors came from lecturers, alumni, FKG students, and the community outside FKG. We sincerely thank the donors who have given their donations, "Ridzki Hasya said.
Furthermore, the donation funds will be used to purchase raw materials for the manufacture of disposable faceshield which will be distributed back to the Covid-19 referral hospital in Banda Aceh.
