Member of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives Dr. H. Muhammad Kadafi, S.H., M.H reviewed directly the implementation of the 2020 Computer Based Test (UTBK) of Joint Selection for State University Entrance at Syiah Kuala University. The politician from the National Awakening Party was accompanied by Unsyiah Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng when visiting one of the test locations in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. (Banda Aceh, 7/5/2020).
During the visit, Kadafi greatly appreciated the Unsyiah's readiness in implementing health protocols in the implementation of this college entrance examination.
According to him, this reflects that Unsyiah responded quickly to extraordinary conditions such as the unbroken Covid-19 epidemic.
"I see that the health protocol in Unsyiah has been implemented in an orderly and correct manner. The seating process and the provision of information for participants were also quite good, "said Kadafi.
The implementation of the UTBK this time, according to Kadafi, indirectly helped educate the public to be disciplined in implementing health protocols. Especially in entering the new normal phase.
For this reason, Kadafi invited all UTBK participants this time to understand that the current conditions are not the same as before. For example, examinees must use masks and gloves in answering questions. So they are required to begin to get used to such conditions.
"So this is a little uncomfortable, so we need to provide information from the beginning for all participants to get used to. Do not let them not ordinary, not focus on the test. So they must educate them to stay in compliance with the health protocol, "he said.
Meanwhile Unsyiah Rector revealed that Unsyiah was very concerned about the health or safety of the examinees. Therefore, the process of implementing the test by applying health protocols like this has been prepared by Unsyiah in advance. This activity has also received permission from the Covid-19 Task Force in Banda Aceh City. In fact, Unsyiah has conducted simulation activities so that all implementing committees can understand and apply health protocols well in the field.
"We have prepared all this, so that our children who carry out UTBK can be guaranteed their safety. "Besides that we will continue to pray and strengthen our endeavors, so that this epidemic will soon end," said the Chancellor.
The implementation of the UTBK began on July 5-12, 2020. The number of UTBK participants for the SBMPTN pathway at Unsyiah this year totaled 9,269 participants. To note, the UTBK exam is the main requirement for students who will continue their studies to tertiary institutions through the SBMPTN and Mandiri pathways. Where all the implementation processes are under the coordination of the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT).
