TDMRC Unsyiah; Prevent Warkop As a Locus of Covid-19 Transmission in Aceh

17.03.2020 Humas

In an effort to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 in Aceh, local governments acted quickly by dismissing schools and reducing public activities in ACEH for 14 days. But unfortunately, this was welcomed by some Acehnese in rollicking to meet warkop (Warung Kopi) scattered throughout the foyer of Aceh.

Responding to the Aceh Government's appeal about Preventing Corona Virus Through Worship, Healthy and Clean Life Behavior, Chair of Tsunami and Mitigation Research Center (TDMRC) Unsyiah, Prof.Dr. Khairul Munadi, ST. M. Eng stated that "Social Distance" or restrictions on contact with the community imposed by the government will not run properly if it is not followed by "Social Compliance" or social compliance from the community. If this continues, we will worry that the coffee shop will become a new locus of transmission of COVID-19 disease.

"For that we need to work together to strive so that the people of Aceh who are fond of drinking coffee are not infected with this dangerous disease."

Responding to this, Dr. Ichsan, M.Sc. TDMRC Human Security Cluster researcher who is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at Unsyiah states that COVID-19 is a disease that is "High Infectivity & Low Mortality". People are advised not to panic but remain vigilant. 14 days is the incubation period of the corona virus, meaning that if within 14 days the symptoms do not appear, then it is confirmed to be negative COVID-19.

TDMRC urges people to stay at home with family except for very important and urgent needs. If you have to be in a public place like a coffee shop, there are things that must be considered carefully and carefully.

In an effort to support the government's appeal, TDMRC-UNSYIAH through its Human Security Cluster divides "Nine Effective Tips to PREVENT COVID-19 Transmission in WARKOP" as follows:

1. NO SHAKE HAND

The customs and culture of Acehnese people who are friendly to friends and acquaintances is a good thing, but for the time being it should not be done to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

2. DO NOT TOUCH THE EYES, NOSE & MOUTH

The Corona Virus that causes COVID-19 cannot enter the body through human skin, it can only cause disease if it enters through the eyes, nose and mouth. Therefore, do not touch these three organs while in the coffee shop or other public places.

3. WASH HANDS 2 TIMES

An effective way to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 is to wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and running water. Do this good thing at least 2 times, which is when you arrive and leave the Warkop.

4. DO NOT USE THE SERBET / FABRIC HANDLES AVAILABLE

The napkin/rag available in warkop is used by many people, avoid using this. Use the available tissue table or if it is not available it is better not to wipe.

5. ADAPTING MOW & COUGH

Sneezing and coughing are the most common modes of transmission of COVID-19. Avoid people who sneeze or cough. If you sneeze or cough, use tissue to cover your mouth and nose, then immediately throw the tissue in the trash.

6. ORDER A HEALTHY EAT

In order to maintain a fit and healthy body condition, order healthy food. Avoid fried foods and eat lots of micin or flavoring.

7. SHORT TIME VISIT

The incubation period of this virus is 14 days, so the best thing is not to visit the trademark in the next 14 days. Especially for those of you who are over 60 years old (elderly). However, if the visit cannot be avoided, the alternative is to temporarily IMPROVE VISITING.

8. DO NOT GO TO THE WARKOP IF SICK

If you feel sick or feel unwell, a wise choice is to temporarily NOT VISIT the Warkop.

9. KEEP THE BODY RESISTANCE

Consuming nutritious food, exercise and adequate rest is the best way to keep us from contracting this COVID-19 disease.
