The Results of Aceh-Andaman Connectivity Research are reported in Unsyiah

The Market Intelligence Team consisting of three researchers, Muzailin Affan from Syiah Kuala University, Teuku Cut Mahmud Aziz, S.Fil, MA from Al Muslim University and Ichsan Muhammd Ali Basyah from Malikusseh University, reported the results of research related to the Development of Aceh & Sumatra Connectivity - Andaman Nicobar , in the form of a Focus Group Discussion at the Unsyiah Senate Hall. (Friday, 12/28).

Vice Rector IV Unsyiah Dr. Hizir when opening the program said that trade relations between Aceh and India had been established for a long time. Where in the 13th century, Acehnese people had collaborated with India a lot. Therefore, Unsyiah strongly supports the results of this study as an effort to rebuild the connectivity.

"So we were very happy and welcomed the results of this research. Moreover, this has been initiated by the two leaders of the country, India and Indonesia. We hope that the relationship between two countries will be even better, "he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the P2K2 Aspasaf BPPK Center for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Indonesia Arifi Saiman said the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave the highest appreciation to researchers who had worked hard in developing Aceh and Sumatra connectivity with the Andaman and Nicobar islands.

Arifi revealed, this activity was the result of the visit of the Prime Minister of India on May 29-30 2018 and then to Indonesia. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various groups have conducted study-studies to develop connectivity that includes India and Indonesia held in Aceh.

"So the results of this study are activities designed to enhance maritime cooperation between Indonesia and India," he said.

Then on December 29, 2018 the launch of a merchant ship pioneer expedition from Aceh to the Portland Andaman Nicobar. Where on this expedition was using the Aceh Millennium motorboat which was a milestone from the Aceh-Nicobar connectivity.

"The ship will bring samples from Aceh that have the potential to be exported," he said.

In the presentation of this research revealed that there are several potential cooperation that can be done, namely tourism, education and trade. All of these studies were conducted through Market Intelligence, namely the method or ability to understand the market. Or meaningful, the system of collecting data from various sources and standards. Where the market in question is more focused on penetration of foreign markets.
