Faculty of Agriculture's Agricultural Product Technology Study Program (FP THP Study Program) Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) held a national seminar "Building Creative and Innovative Food Businesses Based on Local Resources" in the Multi Pupose Room (MPR), Tuesday (1/10).
Vice Dean III for Student and Alumni Affairs of Agriculture Faculty (FP), Dr. nat. techn. Syafruddin, SP, MP said, the theme raised in this national seminar was very in accordance with the current condition of Aceh.
"One of the mainstays of Aceh's local resources is coffee, Aceh’s coffee is very well known to foreign countries," he said.
He added that this potential becomes a business opportunity if it is serious, especially for students. He invited students to move to start a small-scale business.
This seminar presented two presenters, Ir. Mohammad Nadjikh (Director of PT. Manage Mina Laut Gresik, East Java) and T. Dhahrul Bawadi (Owner of Bawadi Group, Banda Aceh).
In his material, Mohammad Nadjikh said, there are two things that must be avoided when running a business, which is feeling quickly satisfied and feeling comfortable in the zone that has been enjoyed today.
While T. Dhahrul Bawadi explained some of the keys to success applied by Bawadi Group, namely honesty, trustworthiness, appearance and trust. He also added that Bawadi Group's promotion strategy did not look at the local market but rather the international market.
"Our promotion strategy is the international market. This is to build image branding, so the quality is not in doubt, "he said.
Fahrizal, S.TP., M.SC as THP lecturer and committee chairman hopes that this seminar can motivate students to become entrepreneurs. In addition, it also changed the views of students towards the business world. (Unsyiah / PR)
