Syiah Kuala University collaborates with PT. Indosat Tbk related to Indosat mobile services to support Smart Campus. This agreement was marked by the signing of the MoU between Unsyiah Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng with SVP Head of Regional & SME PT. Indosat Tbk Fuli Humaeroh, virtually from the Unsyiah Chancellor's Mini Room. (Banda Aceh, 9/10/2020).
Samsul said, from a geographical point of view, Unsyiah's position was at the western tip of Indonesia. However, thanks to the support of communication technology, the problem of distance is no longer a significant problem in develop education.
For this reason, Samsul assessed that cooperation with a telecommunications company with a good reputation like Indosat is very important for Unsyiah to continue to develop its institution.
"I am very grateful to Indosat, so that these two institutions can work together to build this nation, especially in the field of communication," said the Rector.
Through this collaboration, rector hopes that Unsyiah students will later be able to develop their knowledge by participating in internships at Indosat. With these activities, the information or knowledge they get at Indosat can be applied directly to the world of work.
Meanwhile, Fuli Humaeroh said that the signing of the MoU was a form of the joint commitment of the two institutions to continue to develop the world of education in Indonesia, namely through the smart campus program.
Indosat Ooredoo agreed to assist Unsyiah in carrying out distance learning activities, as well as implementing various smart campus programs.
Fuli assessed that, even in a pandemic condition, the enthusiasm to continue implementing educational activities must not stop. Therefore, online lectures are one of the right ways in the current epidemic condition. So it is necessary to accelerate communication technology so that these activities can run effectively.
"Unsyiah and Indosat have the same vision. God willing, with the support of our technology, we can continue to move forward to create a smart campus, ”he said.
Also attending to accompany the rector in this activity was Vice Rector IV Unsyiah Dr. Hizir. Meanwhile, the Vice Rector, Dean and other Unsyiah officials witnessed the signing of this MoU virtually.
As for Indosat who also witnessed were SVP Head of Public Sector & Energy Asrul Ardianto, VP Head of West Regional Account Adrian Lubis, VP Head of Segment Management Raras Wirasto, AVP Head of Northen Sumatera Gita Aprial and Account Executive Ade Irma.
