Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) and Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) agreed to continue cooperation in the field of higher education tridharma. This agreement was outlined in a memorandum of understanding signed by Unsyiah Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng and ITB Rector, Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D. from two different locations, Banda Aceh and Bandung, Thursday (9/3/2020).
The collaborative programs will include assistance and exchange of experts, transplants and apprenticeships, workshops, surveys, seminars, exhibitions, scientific activities and research, to the use of laboratories, libraries and other facilities.
Prof. Samsul said today's cooperation was an extension of the long-standing cooperation between the two institutions. As one of the oldest and best universities in Indonesia, Unsyiah feels that collaboration with ITB is very important. Because there are many advantages that the state university has, so that it becomes a reference for Unsyiah's development. Moreover, at this time, Unsyiah is preparing to digitize diplomas and PTN Legal Entities which ITB has long started.
"Unsyiah need to learn a lot from ITB for the development of this campus to become better," said Prof. Samsul.
He also invited ITB students to be able to study one semester at Unsyiah so they could get to know Aceh better. This program is easy to implement, because the Faculty of Engineering and FMIPA Unsyiah, which is a field of study close to ITB, has been accredited A. In fact, his party is ready to provide a dormitory to make this program easier to run.
Meanwhile, ITB Rector Prof. Reini said that his party strives to always expand cooperation in an effort to address the gap between east and west or between Java and outside Java. Higher education, according to him, has a big role in providing solutions to the problems of the nation.
He also expressed his pride because many ITB alumni have become lecturers at Unsyiah. He hopes that they can continue the ITB tradition and make Unsyiah a PTN with a good, critical, and visionary academic atmosphere. (Public Relations Unsyiah / fer)
