Unsyiah Holds Halalbihalal with Sofyan Djalil

The academics and Alumni Association of Syiah Kuala University (IKA Unsyiah) held a halalbihalal at AAC Dayan Dawood Building, Tuesday (6/16/2020). This activity was followed by academicians, Unsyiah alumni, and Forkopimda Aceh by implementing the Covid-19 protocol. Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning who was also the Head of BPN, Dr. Sofyan A Djalil, S.H., MA., MALD present as a lecturer through the video conference channel from Jakarta.

Chairperson of IKA Unsyiah, Sulaiman Abda, M.Si, said that the implementation of halalbalhalal this year was very different because invited guests were restricted and the distance was kept during the activity. However, this condition did not dampen his party to connect the friendship and strengthen the brotherhood. He also invited all parties present to always unite, ignoring differences in order to build and advance Unsyiah, Aceh and Indonesia, especially in the conditions of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The same thing was also expressed by the Chancellor of Unsyiah, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng.IPU, who said that during the Covid-19 outbreak appeared, this was the first time Unsyiah held an activity that invited relatively a large number of masses. The implementation of halalbihalal is intended to strengthen friendship and maintain the cohesiveness of the Unsyiah extended family.

"Recognized or not, the Covid-19 outbreak has changed a lot of things. The impact is touching various joints of development, and indirectly undermines the inter-community gathering, "said Prof. Samsul.

As an educational institution, Unsyiah will also continue to contribute to tackling this outbreak. One of them is by functioning the Infection Disease Laboratory as a place to test Covid-19 swab specimens. This laboratory can test as many as 400 samples per day and the results can be known within 5 hours.

According to the Chancellor, in the current limited conditions, it takes a sense of togetherness and cohesiveness so that this difficult time can be passed well. He hopes that this halalbalal will be a momentum to help and strengthen each other.

Meanwhile, Sofyan Djalil in his speech invited the academics to always improve themselves every day and get rid of negative thoughts. According to him negative thoughts can have a negative impact on the spirit, temperament, and time spent on something that is not productive.
