The Faculty of Economics and Business at Syiah Kuala University (FEB Unsyiah), October 16-17 2019, held the international conference The 2nd Aceh Global Conference: Business, Economics and Sustainable Development Trends (The 2nd AGC BEST) 2019 at the Kyriad Muraya Hotel, Banda Aceh. The international conference in the context of the 60th anniversary of FEB Unsyiah, raised the theme "Role of Ethical and Moral Values in Promoting Sustainable and Just Economic Development in the Era of Disruptive Economy".
Chair of the Committee, Dr. M. Shabri Abd. Majid, M.Ec. said, this conference was an important forum for academics, practitioners, researchers, to the government. They can share knowledge and research results related to aspects of business, economics, and sustainable development both in theory and practice.
"In this conference, participants also shared research on the latest trends and developments in the era of disruptive economy," Shabri said, Friday (10/18)
The AGC BEST conference successfully received more than 112 papers sent by professionals, academics, and students. To ensure the quality of the paper, the committee also invited dozens of reviewers to review the incoming paper. In addition, five editors were also involved to select, edit and correct the paper. The result was that there were 65 papers received by the committee and presented in six parallel sessions. All papers received and presented have the opportunity to be published in accredited national journals and The 2nd AGC BEST online proceedings.
Unsyiah Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng. IPU said that currently economic development faces many challenges. Academics are required to be able to understand this condition and its impact on people's lives. He also hoped that this conference could generate ideas and solutions in meeting these challenges.
The AGC BEST conference presents keynote speakers from several countries who are experts in the fields of economics, management, finance, and accounting. They are Prof. Dr. Mark Christensen (ESSEC Business School Accounting and Management Control Department, Singapore), Prof. Dr. Salina H. Kassim (Dean of the Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance of International Islamic University Malaysia), Prof. Dr. Mohamad bin Abdul Hamid (Deputy Chancellor of the International Islamic University Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Malaysia), and Prof. Drs.
