Syiah Kuala University hosted the Asean Student Entrepreneurship Network (ASENet) Convention II, which was held from March 14-18, 2018 at AAC Dayan Dawood Building, Darussalam. (Thursday, 3/15).

The conference, which brought together these young ASEAN entrepreneurs, was opened by the Director General for Research and Development at the Ministry of Research and Technology Higher Education. Muhammad Dimyati, who is also a keynote speech.

Rector Unsyiah Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal M. Eng said, an honor for Unsyiah to host the activities that bring together the perpetrators of ASEAN's creative economy. Previously the same activities have been held at the University of Science Malaysia (USM) in 2016 ago.

Rector explained, such activities are very important because it becomes a place for young entrepreneurs to exchange ideas, as well as open networks across countries. According to the Rector, it is time for the youth to move in the creative economy sector, which is expected to become the backbone of the national economy.

"The youth should be encouraged to become entrepreneurs, so that they become a part and have a measurable and significant contribution in improving the competitiveness of our nation," said Rector.

Chairman of the Committee. Iskandarsyah Madjid, S.E, M.M. explains, ASENet is an entrepreneurial activity that has a specific purpose, that is how young entrepreneurs in ASEAN can collaborate with each other, and build networks so they can move together to build the ASEAN economy.

"The theme we lift is also very specific namely Creative Entrepreneur for Creative Economy. Because we want the products of this activity is able to support the economic strength of ASEAN, which is driven by young entrepreneurs "said Iskandarsyah.

Iskandarsyah explained, This activity was attended by 85 participants who come from domestic and foreign universities. The series of activities consist of exhibitions and workshops entrepreneurship filled by Professor of FE Universitas Indonesia Prof. Rhenald Khasali, Ph.d.
