Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) through the Indonesian Agricultural Higher Education Communication Forum (FKPTPI) was appointed as the host of the 71 meeting of State Universities (PTN) in Indonesia. The activity which took place on October 2-3 took place at Hermes Hotel, Banda Aceh.
The forum includes national seminar and workshop discussing the acceleration of innovation and technology to realize food sovereignty with resource local wisdom-based. This seminar presented the Secretary of the General Director of Belmawa Kemristekdikti, Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, Plt. Governor of Aceh, Ir. Nova Iriansyah, M.T. represented by the Head of Agriculture and Plantation Office, Aceh, Ir. Kacuk Sumarto, MBA from GAPKI, and Prof. Dr. Bustanul Arifin from PERHEPI.
Rector Unsyiah, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng., Said that currently the agricultural sector in Indonesia is experiencing various problems, such as the limitations of agricultural land. Whereas Indonesia is an agricultural country that is very suitable for the development of the agricultural industry. In addition, according to the Chancellor, Indonesia as an agrarian country should have economic policies that refer to the sector.
Rector Unsyiah also appreciated the implementation of FKPTPI. He hopes this forum can be a meeting that provides opportunities for synergy, as well as accelerating innovation in agriculture. Moreover, according to him, the world is currently preparing to face the industrial revolution era 4.0.
