USK Agriculture Faculty Announced the 3rd ICAGRI 2021

The Faculty of Agriculture announced to hold the 3rd International Conference on Agriculture and Bioindustry (ICAGRI) 2021 in Banda Aceh from 13-14 October 2021. (Banda Aceh, 26 July 2021).

This international conference will bring together experts, academicians, researchers, professionals, policy makers, as well as students from around the world who work on the related fields into this forum.

The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Samadi explained about this year’s theme for ICAGRI: Sustainable Technologies for Enhancing Agricultural Productivity: Challenges and Current Scenario.

This theme will focus on the effective implementations of the research findings on the field of agriculture through transfer of technology and innovation which provides more opportunities and improves the productivity growth and quality of agriculture products.

“This should be in line with the attempts to maintain the environment and its sustainability. Thus, we will have to consider many things for the transfer of technology and innovation.”, as Prof. Samadi said.

Some applications of the adoption of technology can be seen in the production input, agriculture tools and machinery, biological control, agricultural product development, bioenergy and the environment.

Thus, Prof. Samadi stated that USK Faculty of Agriculture, through its capacity as a center of knowledge development and its duty to provide services to the community will always synchronize research findings to determine if they could be applied widely by the society. One of the attempts is through this 3rd ICAGRI 2020 International forum.

There are some keynote speakers who will also be present in this conference including Dr H. Syahrul Yasin Limpo, S.H, M.H (Indonesian Minister of Agriculture, to be confirmed), Prof. Dr. Susanne Neugart (Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany), Prof. Dr. Fátima Baptista (University of Évora, Portugal), Dr. Natsumi Kanzaki (Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute, Japan).

“In addition, we have also arranged a session for the invited speakers consisting of experts and lecturers from the related fields”, he said.

Furthermore, Dr. rer.hort. Indera Sakti Nasution stated that the 3rd ICAGRI would be held virtually because of the lasting Covid-19 pandemic.

He then hoped that this event may help establish the network among the participants and serve as a platform to share information about their research findings and discuss the challenges as well as the possible solutions. This would also provide an opportunity to initiate new collaborations in terms of academic and new productive agricultural sectors.
