Universitas Syiah Kuala in collaboration with Aceh Region Police Force (Polda Aceh) distributed second dose vaccines to students. This joint vaccination was held on 3-4 August in AAC Dayan Dawood Hall. (Banda Aceh, 4 August 2021).
Head of Student Affairs Bureau of USK, Dr. drh. Mustafa Sabri, M.O. explained that prior to this activity, they had distributed first-dose vaccines on 16 July 2021 and that this current distribution was for the second-dose.
“We don’t want to leave it at the first dose. That is our main goal for today’s vaccination.”, as Mustafa said.
According to Mustafa, this activity was to support the government’s program for vaccination. This is also to help students who need to access their Study Planner which requires them to upload a vaccine certificate.
Nevertheless, for students who have been advised not to be vaccinated due to medical conditions and those who had just been exposed to the virus in the last three months, the requirement could be replaced with a letter from the health centers or hospitals.
Mustafa further said that during the distribution of the first dose, they had more than 900 people. On the second dose distribution, they then hope to see the same number of visitors.
“We hope the 900 people that came before could show up, but they are free to choose where to get vaccinated. So they don’t have to get vaccinated here.”, he said.
In the last update, the online registration for this vaccine had reached 370 and it kept rising as some visitors registered on the spot. Mustafa expressed his appreciation for the students who went with this vaccination agenda. This activity was also open to the public. Each person will be vaccinated when they show up with their ID card.
