The University of Syiah Kuala held a socialisation program for the Sistem Informasi Kerja Sama (Simkerma) in the Academic Bureau Office on the website page: simkerma.unsyiah.ac.id. This event, run both online and face-to-face, was opened by the Vice Rector IV of USK, Prof. Dr. Hizir in the USK Senate Hall. (Banda Aceh, 27 April 2021).
The Simkerma is an application for data collection of the Memorandum of Understanding, Memorandum of Agreement and the Implementation of Network in the Network Division of the Academic Bureau.
The application is run by admin and operator through the website page: simkerma.unsyiah.ac.id. To access the website, there would need to be a username and password. The username is from the Employee Identification Number (NIP/NIK) and the password would be the password in Simpeg (the employee information system) of USK.
The information system management was divided into two users, namely admin and operator. The operator is responsible to input the data to the system by using the access right granted by the admin. Meanwhile the admin is responsible to manage the access right of the users.
Prof. Hizir in his opening remarks explained that this application is of great importance especially in the collaboration of USK with other universities. Moreover, collaborations like this one would support USK in achieving the Main Performance Indicator (IKU) as set by the Ministry.
In this occasion, Prof. Hizir also socialized the collaboration strategy of universities. He mentioned that as of this moment, the Rector of USK is the Chairman of IMT-GT UNINET. This organisation is house of about 23 universities in 3 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Until today, the IMT-GT has also contributed to the development of education and research.
Some programs that had previously been executed were the International Conference, UNINET STEM, Talent Mobility Project, IMT-GT Varsity Carnival, Superfruits Project, UNINET Internship, and Virtual Mobility Program.
As Prof. Hizir evaluated, the Rector’s strategic position in the organisation means that USK has a massive opportunity to collaborate with all of these universities.
“So it would be much easier for us to start a collaboration because we have the power.”, as mentioned by the Vice Rector of Planning and Public Relations Division.
Within the collaboration programs in USK, there are seven criteria involved including cooperation in the fields of education, research, community service, experts provision, management, operational and facilities and infrastructures (loan and borrowing of the State Property (BMN), lease, and so forth).
This event was also attended by the Head of the Academic Bureau, Head of OIA, the University’s liaison officers, the Vice Rector I and a number of collaboration operators in the faculties.
