Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, is scheduled to visit the Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) campus on Monday, September 2, 2019. This visit was in the context of the 58th anniversary of the campus and the inauguration of the 7 in 1 project building.
Unsyiah's Head of Public Relations, Chairil Munawir, said the activities would take place at the AAC Dayan Dawood Building, Darussalam, Banda Aceh. Jusuf Kalla is also scheduled to officially inaugurate and visit lecture buildings in three faculties that are ready to be built. The development of these three faculties is included in the 7 in 1 part of the project funded by the Saudi Fund Development (SFD).
"This development has been started since 2017, and its use will be inaugurated by Jusuf Kalla," Chairil said, Friday (8/30).
He said the three faculties were the Faculty of Natural Sciences (FMIPA), the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH), and the Faculty of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (FKP).
In addition, he continued, on the same occasion Jusuf Kalla would deliver a scientific speech before thousands of Unsyiah academics. This is a routine part of the Unsyiah milad. This visit also became an encouragement for the oldest campus in Aceh to continue to improve the quality of education.
"This visit is certainly very valuable for us, especially Mr. JK last time to Unsyiah in 2015," Chairil said.
For this reason, he hopes that all parties, especially the Unsyiah academic community, will be able to succeed in this activity. What's more, Jusuf Kalla was listed as one of the recipients of the Honorary Doctorate Award (Dr. HC) from Unsyiah in 2015 ago. Unsyiah will also broadcast this activity live streaming through the UnsyiahTV Youtube account. (Unsyiah/ fer)
