30.07.2021 Humas

Vice Rector I of Universitas Syiah Kuala, Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan inaugurated two officers in the university for the positions of Dean of Faculty of Economy and Business (FEB) and Head of Career Development Centre (CDC) in the AAC Dayan Dawood Hall. (Banda Aceh, 29 July 2021).

It was Dr. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., M.A. who was announced as the Dean of FEB 2021-2025, replacing the former dean and carrying on the title after the late Prof. Dr. Nasir Azis, S.E., M.B.A. who passed away on 29 May 2021.

Then, Dr. Teuku Roli Ilhamsyah Putra, S.E., M.M. was appointed Head of CDC, replacing Dr. Riha Dedi Priatna who has been appointed Coordinator of Bachelor of Accountant Study Program.

In this inauguration, Prof. Marwan who represented the Rector of USK congratulated both the newly appointed officers. Their leadership is expected to improve USK works in realizing the vision and mission of this university.

Prof. Marwan specifically instructed the new Dean of FEB to maximize the faculty’s potential. In the past, FEB was the pioneer in the birth of USK. Therefore, the society has high hopes for the faculty to give even greater contributions.

At this time, Aceh is still in the midst of a difficult economic situation during the pandemic, with a high poverty rate and unsatisfying economic growth.

“This is indeed a challenge for the Economy Faculty, and so we hope that the new Dean will be able to optimize the potential that we have, restore the connection to move in synergy to realize the visions and missions of both the faculty and the university.”, Prof. Marwan said.

This is also true for CDC, as they also play a very important role in creating the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of the university as determined by the Ministry of Education. CDC has been actively tracing the USK graduates using tracer study. Since last year, the tracer study has also been expanded to include USK graduates of all levels of study including those of degree, professional, specialist, and other programs.

“The tracer study is a part of the Ministry’s demand in relation to the KPI. Therefore, we would need strategies to make sure USK KPI improves even better.”, Prof. Marwan said.

In addition, CDC also has an active role in internship activities for USK alumni and students. The internship program is an important point in realizing the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program initiated by the Ministry of Education.

Thus, Prof. Marwan hopes that the new Head of CDC will be able to build stronger cooperation with other institutions for the success of this program.

“So far, we have cooperated with State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), state institutions, companies, and others so that USK students can have a six-month internship for their study credit.”, said Prof. Marwan.

This inauguration was carried out with a strict health protocol. The invitation has also been limited. Other USK officials who also attended this activity were Vice Rector II, Vice Rector IV, Head of Bureau of General and Financial Affairs, and some Deans USK.
